Heating up

It's been warming up in Vegas the last couple of weeks...which means we've started using our pool.  We got a pool cover and it helps with keeping the water warmer.  The water isn't as warm as I'd like it yet, but it will get there soon.

I love this time of year.  The days have been longer and we've spent some evenings at the park or in the back yard barbecuing.  Lots of bike rides and walks to the park.  It's warm enough for swimming but not too hot yet.  Bracing myself for the heat.

Kensie likes swimming.  Except she usually only lasts about 15-30 minutes and then says, "All done."  I think she will want to go longer when the water is warmer.

Playing in the water at the splash park and going down the slide together at the park behind our house.

On another note.  Kensie has a plethora of swimsuits.  What can I say?  I'm kinda obsessed with swimsuits, obviously.  And besides, like I always say, "A girl can never have too many swimsuits."

New Bike

Kensie got her first tricycle!  While we put it together she could hardly contain her excitement.  She kept trying to climb on the seat while we were putting it together.  She is such a little peanut and still can't reach the pedals though.  We strap her in and push her with the handle for now.  When she gets older we'll remove the handle.  She LOVES her bike and wants to ride it ALL the time.  Every time we go into the garage she runs to it and wants to take it for a ride.  I need to put it somewhere else because it makes getting into the car and going places difficult.  Apparently it was a good purchase.

Swimsuit Season

The last six weeks of my life have been consumed with swimsuit season.  I love this time of year.  This is my third summer with my swimsuit business, Pink Desert LLC and every year gets better and busier.  In the last six weeks I've had 12 swimsuit parties and sold over 150 swimsuits.  I spend lots of time placing swim orders, taking inventory, unpacking shipments, responding to customers, etc.  When I receive a new shipment of swimsuits I'm like a kid on christmas morning.  This year I added two new swimwear lines:  Diviine Modestee and Hapari.  They are both doing really well and I love having the variety of carrying more brands now:  Lime Ricki, Hapari, Diviine Modestee, and Modbe.  I did a giveaway with Fabuluous Fun Finds in March which really spread the word about my company.  Besides that, everything has been through word of mouth, company facebook page, and the internet.   It is really fun and exciting to see my company grow!

Girls Trip

I went on a Girl's trip a few weeks ago with some ladies from my church.  We stayed in Newport for two nights and three days without any children or husbands and had a blast!  Our first day in CA we got pedicures, ate at PF Changs, and shopped.
We stayed up late and slept in until 10 a.m.  I didn't know I had the ability to do that still.  Hadn't done that since college.

Ate more good food.  Shopped at the swap meet.  Went to see the movie 'Mirror Mirror'.  More shopping at the Costa Meza Plaza.
More eating...
We may or may not have gone dancing at Sutra in Newport Beach...
And stayed up way too late again.  Went to the beach finally.  The first two days in California were rainy and windy.
Relaxing on the beach=one of my most favorite things to do.  Please note that there is nothing better to eat on the beach than a corn dog from Jane's Corn dogs.

Aaaaand last but not least we made friends with a minivan full of german men headed to Vegas on our way home.  Don't worry, they didn't stand a chance with us hot, married women.

Then we returned to our exhausted husbands who watched our kids all weekend while we had a getaway.  I had a blast but it was so good to see Niel and Kensie.

Easter

Easter seems like so long ago I can hardly remember it.  I'm pretty sure we went to church, took a nap, and then had a BBQ.  Kensie looked adorable in her Easter dress.  I didn't find a dress in time this year so I wore my dress from last year.  We made Kensie a little Easter basket with the movie 'Lady in the Tramp' inside.  It is the only movie or show she will watch for longer than five minutes.  She loves seeing her puppy in the movie.  Anyways, here are the pictures we took on Easter Sunday.

Egg Hunts

Kensie had her first easter egg hunts this year!  The first was on Friday at the park behind our house with a few of her friends.

Once she found out the eggs had candy in them she stopped egg hunting completely and sat in the grass eating her candy.

Saturday morning we were invited to an egg hunt in Summerlin.  Saturday afternoon we had a third egg hunt with a bunch of people from our ward.  That egg hunt ended in an embarrassing tantrum.  I left with a kicking and screaming hungry/tired child.  One of those 'I want to crawl under a rock' moments.

Kensie had so much fun egg hunting with all of her little friends.  She still carries around her easter basket and puts things in it!

A girl can dream...

There's this empty retail space a few miles from our home in a shopping area with TJ MAXX and a bunch of other stores. I secretly (or maybe not so secretly) would LOVE to own my own store. Right now I run my swimsuit business out of my home and on the Internet. But I have high hopes of someday opening up my own brick and mortar store and expanding into clothing also. Anyways, every once in awhile I take a look at the available retail locations surrounding my home. I've had my eye on this particular retail space for about two years. Already painted, beautiful flooring, and ready to go. Just waiting to be filled with merchandise. Every now and then I stroll by after shopping and peer into the window.
It probably won't ever happen. And it would probably be a lot more of a headache than it would be fun. But hey, a girl can dream right?
