Kensie's New Ride

Since mom got a new car, Kensie thought she needed a new ride also.Photobucket
Our neighbors let Kensie borrow this walker and she loves it. I hadn't ever seen her get so excited about any toy until this one. When we first put her in the car she got a huge smile, started squealing, and pushing the buttons. Then she went through a phase where she didn't want anything to do with it. She wouldn't even touch her feet to the ground when she sat in it. But now she loves it again. She walks around backwards, plays with the steering wheel, pushes the buttons that light up, and plays the music over and over.

My only complaint is that sometimes she just looks a little too grown up 'driving' around in her car:)

Easter

Kensie and mom both got new easter dresses this year. Kensie looked especially adorable in her new dress and jelly sandals.

We had a really low-key easter. We went to church and then just relaxed. The Easter bunny brought a few pool toys and some candy. I completely spaced planning an easter dinner so we came up with some chicken dish last minute.

Usually I'm the photographer but Niel took some pictures of Kensie and I this time.

Yep, that's my daughter. She doesn't look like me at all does she? Sometimes I wish she looked like me at least a little bit. But its ok, I think she's pretty dang cute just the way she is:)

Pool Time

The Schurig pool is now in service. We heated it up the second week of April. Kensie experienced swimming for her first time and she really liked it! I had anticipated taking her swimming in our pool ever since we moved into our house. We've gone quite a few times since then. She loves splashing around and bringing her rubber duck, whale, and other bath toys in the pool.

The first time we went she did a lot of this: Sticking her tongue out in excitement

She also did a lot of sucking on her whale. Photobucket
Looking forward to lots of swimming this summer. Or if you are like me, lots of doggy paddling.

Arizona

We went to Phoenix for Niel's birthday in March. We had been meaning to visit for a long time because we have friends and family there. I hadn't ever been to Arizona and it was Kensie's first road trip. Besides some temporary screaming on the way home, she did awesome the whole trip (it was when we got home that we paid for messing with her schedule). The only pictures we have from the trip are from our phones. They will have to do.
Kensie met her first BFF. We were able to meet up with our friends from college, Marshall and Amanda and meet their new baby girl Brielle, who is almost the same age as Kensie. They had fun staring and squawking at each other.

We stayed with Niel's best friend Steve and celebrated their birthdays at the Grand Lux Cafe. Besides that we ate lots of yummy food and had a good time visiting with everyone. Kensie was able to meet her aunt, grandma, and cousins for the first time. She got oodles of attention from everyone.

7 Months

Photobucket
Kensie turned seven months almost a month ago but I am finally getting around to posting. A lot has changed in the past month but here is the recap of month seven...

It was a rough month for Kensie because she was sick for about three weeks. First she got a cold and then she got a fever and cough. The cold and cough dragged on forever but she is finally better. Some nights around here she was waking up several times not feeling well.Photobucket

Her naps have improved so much from last month. She isn't waking up 45 minutes into her naps as often. Usually she will nap for at least an hour. Sometimes two hours if I'm lucky. She goes to bed between 7:15-7:30p.m. and wakes up between 5:45-6:15 a.m. I wish she wouldn't wake up so early but I will take what I can get. She still wakes up sometimes at night but will usually go back to sleep on her own (this took some serious sleep training). Speaking of sleep training. I swear we have been having to do it over and over for the last three months.

Here's what else is going on with Kensie...
still no teeth
She can finally roll in all directions
She can almost sit up all by herself
Sticks her long tongue out all the time
has tried oatmeal, rice cereal, mixed cereal, carrots, green beans, peas, squash and sweet potatoes
She hates wearing socks or shoes and kicks vigorously whenever I try putting them on her
She loves it when we sing to her

Kensie has become a curious, wiggle worm. She is so anxious to see, hear, touch, taste, and experience everything around her. Her attention span doesn't last very long until she wants a new toy, change of environment, etc. I'm getting nervous for when she starts crawling and walking because I think Kensie is going to be a little burst of energy:)

She is our 'singing', shouting, sociable, smiling, wiggly, and curious little girl.

Houston we have a problem

I somehow managed to accidentally delete my whole blog list while trying to delete an individual blog. I'm feeling lost and disconnected to my friends without it. I wish I had an amazing memory and could remember every single person who was on my 'blogs I read' list and what their website address is but I can't. So, to help me out a little bit could you please email me or comment and leave your blog address? Then I can continue to be your loyal reader:) Thanks folks.
