Playgroup

We wrapped up our first year of a successful playgroup!  It is something Kensie looks forward to all week.  Her friends are Mitchell, Maya, Kelsey, Kinsley, and Clara.  Kelsey and Kinsley moved at the end of the year and now Addie has joined the group in her place.  I am also a huge fan of playgroup because three Thursday mornings out of the month I get 2.5 hours to myself of guilt-free time to do whatever I want.  Usually I clean, run errands, or go to appointments during that time.  Every once in awhile I run to the mall or do something fun like get a pedicure:)
Clara is one of Kensie's best friends.  I'm glad Kensie has good friends to play with and that I have great mom friends who I can trust!

Company Party

The first week of December was Niel's company party.  This year it was held at the Red Rock Casino and was even fancier than last year.  We both felt a little under-dressed.  The food was great and the dessert assortment was even better.  After dinner we had a good time dancing.  His company parties are always a good time and something I look forward to.

The Car

Do any other moms secretly cross their fingers that the 'shopping car' won't be available at the grocery store?  Kensie loves this thing and she watches for it like a hawk every time we go.  Last week, as we drove into the parking lot she said, "there's the car!!!"  Yep, she had already spotted it in the parking lot.

This thing is huge and I'm awful at navigating it.  But, I have to admit Kensie looks pretty darn cute driving it and saying, "beep beep!"  Our weekly trip together to the grocery store has become less of a nightmare and almost something I enjoy.  Of course, it's much easier to go alone but it's kinda fun to have her as my shopping buddy at the grocery store now.
Grocery shopping with two kids though?  Not looking forward to that.

BOY

Finally blogging about our baby BOY who is on the way!  At my twelve week appointment the ultrasound tech told me it looked like a boy.  Then it was confirmed on my 14 & 18 week appointment.  I waited until the 18 week appointment to buy my first purchase:
Did I want a girl or a boy?  Well, I knew I wanted at least one boy.  So the thought of having a boy next was appealing.  Then I wouldn't have to worry about trying for a boy!  And just in case we decided to stop at two kids, we would have one boy and one girl.  So yes, I was hoping for a boy.  Which was why it was weird when I reacted the way I did.  I wasn't very excited and I got kinda freaked out about having a boy.  The thought of having a wild, rambunctious, boy scared me.  And when I went to pick out boy clothes nothing looked cute.  I kept seeing adorable baby girl clothes and ugly boy clothes.  Eventually I got over this stage and now I'm really excited about having a boy.  Just crossing my fingers he isn't as rambunctious as Niel and his brother were (my in-laws continually tell me how wild Niel was as a little boy, yikes!).  Baby appears to be healthy and doing well!
